With Seva stepping in as Acting President, and Katey taking the reigns as Toastmaster of the day, two outstanding Icebreaker speeches were the highlights of our June 20 meeting.
Mara brought her poignant experiences as a nurse to her Icebreaker speech, “Perfectly Imperfect,” in which she discussed the evolution of her career from a caretaker to researcher of the effects of grief on caretakers. In the meeting’s second Icebreaker speech, Emily discussed the evolution of her career decisions that have led her to her current position with Boeing.
In “You Can Change the World,” Nancy used a minimally designed PowerPoint presentation to speak about the plight of millions of girls who remain uneducated around the world, and the value that education brings to both the girls and their communities.
