On the Road – Meeting of July 23, 2011

Area Governor Cheryl inducts new officers.
Evaluation Champ Scott gives Amara Feedback

We had lots of fun and learning today! Highlights:

Joel delights with his Ah Counter’s report.
  • We tried a new location (Rusty Pelican, Wallingford).
  • Our Area 23 Governor, Cheryl E., joined us to introduce herself to our members and install our new officer team.
  • Amara D. delivered the final project from The Profession Speaker advanced manual and received a thorough and supportive evaluation from Scott C., the District 2 Evaluation Contest winner for 2011.
  • John N. delivered thoughtful Table Topics questions about road trips — ones we love to remember and ones we might like to forget! Best Table Topics award went to Mary L.
  • Word of the Day: peregrinate (to journey or travel from place to place, esp. on foot)
  • First-time visitor Kathy said she found lots of useful practices in our meeting.
  • Second-time visitor Nagisa remains interested in learning more about the Toastmaster program.
  • Business: The club members decided to try another meeting at The Rusty Pelican. Join us at 7:45 on Saturday, Aug. 6th for another great meeting!
  • Kathy tries impromptu speaking
